Final results from New Zealand's October 14 election show that the National Party needs support from ACT New Zealand and NZ First to form a government.
It comes as polls show it is increasingly likely National will need both NZ First and Act to form a government, despite National leader Christopher Luxon’s pleas to voters to deliver a clear two-party hand to him.
Luxon had been peppered with questions about whether he’d work with NZ First for months, having already ruled out left-leaning and far-right fringe parties.
NZ First leader Winston Peters is also wooing the region with public meetings in Orewa and Auckland this weekend.
